Aviva Hirsch, Intern, Albuquerque

Aviva Hirsch (they/them) is an artist, Master of Social Work practicum student at New Mexico Highlands University, and a trained yoga therapist who facilitates yoga and meditation, including classes for currently incarcerated people. Their work is grounded in somatics and embodiment, supporting clients in connecting with their bodies as a source of regulation, awareness, and resilience. Aviva has experience working with neurodiverse clients and brings a background in education, environmental stewardship, and behavioral health in tribal communities. They have also taught Mental Health First Aid and facilitated health-related and healthy relationship curricula. Originally from a coastal community in Alaska, they enjoy partner dancing, running, exploring and learning about diverse ecosystems and cultures.
